It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sharon Fruge Hinton, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, who left us on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the age of 62. Sharon was born on October 21, 1963, in Lafayette, Louisiana, and spent her life uplifting those around her with her kindness and creativity.
A proud graduate of Iowa High School, Sharon dedicated her career as a bookkeeper and was a successful business owner. Her passions included crafting, gardening, and painting, and she found joy in the simplicity of life surrounded by family and her beloved grand-pets, Lenny Lisotta and Henry Flowers.
Sharon's greatest love was for her family. She is survived by her husband, Glynn Hinton; her devoted daughters, Brittany Flowers (Pete) and Saige Lisotta (Hadley); her cherished grandchildren, Brayden Hoffpauir, Jaxon Sellers, and Jackson Flowers; and her dear brothers, Mitch Fruge (Angie) and Chris Fruge (Holly). She will also be lovingly remembered by her stepmother, Mary Fruge. Sharon will be deeply missed by her lifelong friend, Monica Miller (Boyd) and special friend, Pam Gardner. Jax, her grandson, was her hero, serving as a constant source of inspiration and pride.
A memorial service to celebrate Sharon's life will be held at the Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 6:30 PM. Gathering of Family and Friends will begin at 3:00 PM in the funeral home on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, with a rosary recited at 6:00 PM. In honoring Sharon's wishes cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa.
