Sheila Joan Lejeune

Sheila Joan Gauthreaux Lejeune, 67, of Vinton, LA, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born in Lake Charles on March 12, 1958, Sheila lived a life full of love, grace, and quiet strength. A graduate of McNeese State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, she brought dedication and integrity to everything she did.

Sheila shared 51 years of love and 39 years of marriage with her high school sweetheart, Wendell Joseph Lejeune. Their bond was built on laughter, loyalty, and a deep, enduring affection that was evident to all who knew them.

In her younger years, Sheila was a principal dancer with the Lake Charles Civic Ballet, a passion that reflected her poise and discipline. She loved ballet, reading, watching football, and competing with the best on her favorite game shows. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending as much time as possible with her three grandsons, who were the light of her life.

She is survived by her loving husband, Wendell “Coach” Lejeune; her daughter, Amanda Noelle Lejeune (Jacob Granger); her treasured grandsons, Findley, Fletcher, and Axel Stutes, Kaynon, Grayson, and Beckham Granger; her mother, Carolyn Durio Gauthreaux; her sisters, Patsy Byrley (Jeffrey) and Theresa Johnson and her brother, Thomas Gauthreaux.

Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Anthony “Bobby” Gauthreaux; her in-laws, Joseph and Carrie Lejeune; and her brother-in-law, Danny Johnson.

She will be remembered for her unwavering love, her beautiful spirit, and the gentle way she made everyone around her feel cared for and at home.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur, with a recitation of the Rosary at 11:00 AM. A gathering of friends and family will begin at 9:00 AM, until the time of the service.
