Shelba "Lucy" Gossett Duhon, 85, of Grand Lake passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Wednesday February 4, 2026.
Mrs. Duhon was born on May 30, 1940 to Irving Joe and Ella Dailey Gossett. She was a 1957 graduate of LaGrange Senior High School. In 1960, Mrs. Duhon married the love of her life, Leon. Together they created their happily ever after and lived it for sixty-four years until the time of his passing. She, along with her husband, often planted a large truck garden and sold their vegetables within the community. They enjoyed going to McNeese football and basketball games and traveled many places. She was a truly devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Duhon found great joy in being a homemaker and providing a loving home for her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for family gatherings. Mrs. Duhon also enjoyed collecting Christmas and Valentine Day stuffed bears and had acquired quite a collection. She proudly displayed them every year for the holidays. Mrs. Duhon will be most remembered as a lady of faith and for her overwhelming love for her family.
