Iowa – Sherry Ann Taylor, born in Indian Village on May 13, 1943, daughter of the late Roy and Allie (Savant) Palmer, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the age of 78.
Sherry was a graduate of Kinder High School. She attended St. Raphael Catholic Church. Sherry was a bus driver for the Jeff Davis Parish School Board. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, but most of all, being with her family brought her so much joy.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Lois Jean Buller, and Rollie “Sonny” Palmer.
Sherry is survived by her husband of 41 years, John David Taylor; children, Kevin Reed (Kathy); Scott Reed (Jennifer), both of Iowa; step-sons, Brandon Taylor (Sara) and Brett Taylor (Janice), both of Belle Chase; grandchildren, Cliff Myers; Rebekah McMillian; Taylor Reed, Katelynne Reed; Haylee Reed; Alyssa Reed; Dylan Reed; Natalie Taylor; Reese Taylor, and Laney Taylor; 10 great-grandchildren; beloved pet, Sophie.
Funeral services will be held in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 10 a.m. Rev. Roland Vaughn, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Hebert Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins on Wednesday in the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. and will continue Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m.
