Shirley Ann Jeanise

Shirley Ann Leonard Jeanise, 61, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 5:40 PM on Sunday, October 2, 2016 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Jeanise was born June 19, 1955 in Jennings, LA and raised in Hayes, LA, where she attended school.  She has lived in Lake Charles for over the past forty-five years.  She worked at A Daisy A Day and ran Sunshine Acres for a number of years.  She attended Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.  She enjoyed gardening and cooking, but her true joy in life was for fishing.  She also loved to spend time with her family and had a great love for her grandchildren.

Mrs. Jeanise is survived by her husband of forty-five years, Andrew Jeanise, III; sons, Donald Jeanise and wife Michele of Orange, TX and Andrew Jeanise IV, and wife Leslie of Shreveport, LA; father, Ewell Leonard of Lake Charles; brother, Daniel Leonard and wife Gwen of Welsh; sister, Regina LeJeune and husband Rodney of Iowa, LA; grandchildren, Kayla Sides and husband Howard, Kory Langley, Donald Jeanise Jr., Andrew Jeanise V, Kane Jeanise, and Eric Jeanise; great-grandchildren, Layla Michele Sides and Kenadi Langley; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Edwina May Leonard; brother, Donald Wayne Leonard; sister, Charlotte Marie Broussard; father-in-law, Floyd D. Burton; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Jeanise.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.

Pallbearers for the service will be Donald Jeanise, Jr., Kory Langley, Andrew Jeanise V, Dakota Leonard, Scott McCutcheon, Daniel Leonard, and Jared Granger.
