Shirley Anne Jones Willis

Shirley Anne Jones Willis, 72, of Lake Charles, LA, died suddenly on Monday morning, January 7, 2019.

Mrs. Willis was born September 26, 1946 in Hughes, AR, was raised in Danville, AR, lived in Little Rock, AR for twenty-one years and has lived in Lake Charles since 1985.  During her younger years, she enjoyed playing and coaching softball, bowling and loved to fish.  She also loved spending time with her family, barbequing and was known to pass time at the casino.  She will be missed.

Mrs. Willis is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Jim L. Willis of Lake Charles; son, Keith Willis and wife Shannon of Lake Charles; brothers, Kacy Jones and wife Mary and Leonard “Buddy” Jones and wife Patsy; sister, Gail Jones, all of Arkansas; grandchildren, Selina Barto, Kory Willis, Whitney Barto, Caleb Burchfield, Haley Willis, Austin Burchfield, Kameron Willis, and Kade Willis; six great-grandchildren, with two more on-the-way; and her close friends, Marion and Pam Moore of Little Rock, AR.

She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Willis; daughter, Dena Burchfield; mother, Marie Butler; sister, Linda Sparks; brothers, Jimmy Jones and Bobby Jones; and two grandchildren, Scott Willis, II and Scarlet Ritter.

Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  Reverend Ronnie Estes will officiate.  Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.  A gathering of family members and friends will be on Friday from 9:30 AM until the start of the service.
