Shirley Ashworth

Shirley Ann Ashworth, 82, of Starks passed away in her home on Wednesday, February 8, 2017.

She was a lifelong resident of Starks and member of First Pentecostal Church of Starks. Shirley was active in community serving as a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, longtime member of the Lions Club and MOCA. She drove a bus for CPSB for many years. Shirley will be remembered for her love of children, her outgoing personality and her caring nature.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Ashworth; mother Alena; father Maurice; sister, Geraldine Jones; brother, Bobby Buxton, and a grandson, Jacob Barks.

Left to cherish her memory are her six children, Shelton (Theressa) Ashworth, Armithea (Terry) Borel, Lena Mae Ashworth;, Ricky Lee (Marilyn) Ashworth, and Thomas Ashworth all of Starks, and Karen (Rod) Harrison of Houston, TX; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at First Pentecostal Church of Starks. Rev. Karl Smith, Rev. Jeremy Shields and Rev. Darrell Orange will officiate. Interment will be in Clark Cemetery.  Visitation will be held in the church Friday, 5 – 9 pm and resume Saturday at 8am until the service at 10am.
