Shirley "Gary" Hoffpauir

Shirley Gary Hoffpauir, 86 of Sulphur, La., passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025. Shirley was born on October 20, 1938, to Joseph and Cecil Gary.

Shirley graduated from Sulphur High School in 1957. She received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology from Northeastern University in Louisiana.

For over 30 years she was the director of Pharmacy at West Cal-Cam Hospital in Sulphur. Shirley was an active member of Henning Methodist Church for over 75 years. She served on various committees and numerous ministries and outreach programs. Shirley loved to read, she volunteered her time at Care Help of Sulphur, she enjoyed her church bible studies and activities. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Shirley is survived by four sisters; Ella Vincent, Max Ann Morgan, Beverly Angehrn and husband Jorg, Dannie Broussard and husband Tom, seven nieces and nephews; Kellie Doucet, Dee Vincent, Julie Kyle, Jaye Torres, Pat Morgan, Lori Barnhill and Allison Savoie, and several great nieces and nephews. Special friends; Jim and Nancy Granich, and Faye Ashby. Shirley was blessed with many loving friends and her much loved church family. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years; Billy Hoffpauir, and her parents; Joseph Gary and Cecil Morris Gary.

A gathering of friends and family to honor Shirley will be 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur, La.

Several charities were very dear to her heart. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to; St. Jude’s Children Hospital, The Heifer Project or Henning Memorial United Methodist Church.
