Shirley "Buddy" Kay Duhon
August 11, 1943 — June 9, 2024
Shirley “Buddy” Kay Duhon, born in DeRidder on August 11, 1943, daughter of the late Domnic Ruffatto and Della Martin, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024, at age eighty.
Shirley enjoyed cross stitching, making peanut butter fudge and tea, attending church and loved spending time with all of her grandchildren. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and father, Benny Stracner; second husband, Charlie “Big C” Duhon, and the father of her children, Donald Ray LeDoux.
The survivors are her son, Travis LeDoux (Michelle); daughters, Cynthia LeJeune (Jeaux), Jennifer LeDoux (Chris Covington); sister, Ruby Meaux (LeRoy); step-children, Jeff Duhon (Shelly), Melissa Duhon, Cheryl Duhon; like a son, Troy Courville (Vanessa); grandchildren, Domnic (Amanda), Daniel (Hannah), Devin, Brennen (Josie); great-grandchildren, Presley, Waylon, Noa, Talen, Mya, Ava, Ema, Zion.
Funeral services are Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 11 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa with Rev. Nathan Nazworth, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Tuesday in the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., and will resume Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
The family would like to thank Calcasieu Community Care Center and St. Joseph Hospice for the excellent care they gave to Shirley.
