Shirley Rogers

Shirley Fruge Rogers, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 30, 1939, in Church Point, Louisiana, to Joseph and Melizza Fruge.

Shirley was a gifted cake decorator for many years and an accomplished seamstress. A devoted and hardworking woman, she found joy in simple pleasures—reading, and watching the Hallmark Channel. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A devout Catholic, Shirley was a longtime member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven and later St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Ricky Rogers and wife Lynette, Jackie Conner and husband Steve, Ellen Jagneaux and husband Keith, Melissa Rogers, and Eric Rogers and wife Annette; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Allen Rogers; her son, Clannie Rogers; grandson, Desmond Wayne Lalonde; granddaughter, Kelly Conner; her parents, Joseph and Melizza Fruge; and siblings, Ethel Thibodeaux, Virgin Matt, and John Gussie Fruge.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 12:00p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will begin Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and will continue Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. Shirley will be laid to rest at Consolata Cemetery.
