Sidney Joseph Portie

Sidney Joseph Portie, 95, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 in his residence.

Mr. Portie is survived by his daughter, Leta LeBlanc; son, Jimmy Portie, both of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Tina Begnaud, Kevin Doxey, Alton LeBlanc, Amy Boaz, and Jessica Lamica; and seven great-grandchildren, Ethan, Mason, Marie, Nichole, Gabe, Angel, and Madylenne.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia Portie.

His funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Randy Edwards will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Friday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
