Sonya Cradeur Richard, affectionately known as Nanny, Maw Maw, and Momma Sonya, passed away after a brief illness in Texas on December 20, 2024, at the age of sixty-eight.
Sonya was a graduate of LaGrange High School, class of 1974.
She worked for Landry’s and the Children’s Clinic. Her infectious smile, laughter, and her ability to connect with everyone she met will be missed.
She is survived by her children, Kristi Prevost (Joey), Steven Devall (Niki), Jessica Hardwick (Chris), Beth Grupp (Lee Maynor), and Bryant LaBiche (Brytni); step-children, Aimee (Dani) and Mandee Richard; sisters-in-law, Lena Bell Cradeur, and Carolyn Scalisi; grandchildren, Sydni, Elizabeth, Lakeyn, Kyle, Baleigh, Layne, Ryleigh, Julia, Christopher, Hallie, Cheyenne, Daxson, Shylo, Beverly, Blaklee, Cooper and Isabelle; great-grandchild on the way, Kenlee Grace.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Lille Mae (Matte) Cradeur; spouse, Malcolm Richard; siblings, Leona, Carroll, and Nelson.
A gathering of friends and family will begin in the KC Hall in Iowa, Louisiana, located next to the funeral home on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., with a service at 12 p.m. Rev. Roland Vaughn, Celebrant. Cremation will follow under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
