Sophie Alexandra Bertrand

Iowa – Sophie Alexandra Bertrand, born April 15, 2003, daughter of Adam Bertrand and Joan Fontenot, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021, at the age of 17.
Sophie was attending Iowa High School and attended St. Margaret’s Catholic School until the 6th grade. She was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church and attended St. Margaret’s Catholic Church as a child. Sophie enjoyed writing in her journal, listening to music, playing with her birds, taking pictures, spending time with her friends and she loved her family. She really loved her mom, dad, brother and sister with all her heart.
Left to cherish her wonderful memory are her parents, Adam Bertrand and Joan Fontenot; brother, Christian Bertrand (Brianna); sister, Lacy Bushnell; maternal grandparents, Ray and Emily Fontenot; parakeet’s, Lemon (her favorite), Freckles, Lilia and Lucy; cat, Luna.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grand-parents, Don and Linda Bertrand; dog, Buster Baxter Bertrand.
A Mass of Christian burial is Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 11 a.m. in St. Raphael Catholic Church of Iowa. Rev. Tony Fontenot, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
Visitation begins Monday, February 8, 2021 in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa, from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. and will resume Tuesday in the funeral home from 8 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Sophie will be dearly missed.
