Sosthane "John" Lantier

John Lantier, 64, of Lake Charles, LA, died on Thursday, November 7, 2019 in his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Lantier was born September 1, 1955 in Rayne, LA to the union of Irving and Una Broussard Lantier, and has lived in the Lake Charles area most of his life.  He retired as an Engineer at Harbor Docking & Towing after 45 years of service.  He was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church in Moss Bluff.  John will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who “never said no.”  He enjoyed fishing, mud riding, and Cajun music, but most of all he adored his granddaughters.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his beloved wife of 44 years, Marie Lantier; his daughters, Cindy Sanders (Justin – the son he never had), and Kathy Richard; sisters, Elaine McFarland, and Shirley Simmons; and his brothers, Kenneth Lantier, and Russell Lantier; and his granddaughters, Destinee, and Haylee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Theresa Hatton.

His funeral service will be held on Monday, November 11 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.  The Very Reverend Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service with a Cursillo Rosary being recited at 12:15 PM.
