Stephen "Hog" Janssen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen "Hog" Janssen, who left us on April 7, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on October 3, 1959, in Jennings, Louisiana, Stephen made his mark in the community as a dedicated construction worker for the Town of Welsh.

He was a loving father, survived by his sons, Jason and Seth Janssen, and cherished by his brother, Todd Janssen, along with sister-in-law Pam. Stephen also leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Abigail, Bryson, Kinley; great granddaughter, Charlie; his nephews, Josh and Trevor; niece, Breanna; and brother-in-law, Wendel Fontenot. Stephen was not just a hard worker; he was a friend to many and always ready to lend a hand. 

Friends and family are invited to gather in his memory on April 10, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa. The gathering will begin at 2:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 5:00 PM. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa. 

We'll miss Stephen's warmth and kindness, but we are thankful for the time we had with him. Let's come together to honor his memory and share our favorite stories of this truly wonderful man. 

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Janssen and Patricia Miller Janssen; his sister, Bethany Fontenot.
