Steve Myers

Steve Edward Myers, age 78, passed away at his home in Prairieville, Louisiana on May 11, 2025.

Steve was born on September 10, 1946. He was the oldest of three children born to Raymond Pat Myers and Helen Marie Moore Myers. Steve was raised in Sulphur, Louisiana. He graduated from Sulphur High School in 1964. Soon after graduating high school, Steve enlisted in the Navy serving during the Vietnam War. After discharge from the Navy he worked in Louisiana and Texas as an electrician. He completed his carrier retiring from Valero where he was a supervisor in Louisiana and the Virgin Islands.

Steve loved fishing and being at his camp at Toledo Bend. He enjoyed playing golf and gambling at the casino. He easily made friends everywhere he went and was liked by everyone. He especially liked spending time with family and friends, telling jokes and stories, keeping everyone entertained.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son Michael Myers; his brother Norbert Myers; and his fiancé Martha Clark.

He leaves behind his sister Noralee Moore and Leon of Bryan Tx; nieces Shonnie Moore and Christina and John Russalesi of College Station, Tx; nephew Bear and Amber Moore of Franklin, Tx; great nieces Kayla, Aubreigh, Madison and Thea; great nephew Peyton. And many loving cousins.

The family wishes to thank his friends and neighbors who visited and cared for him these last few years.

A time of visiting will be held on May 16th at 10:00 – 1:00 with at memorial service beginning at 1:00 at Johnson Funeral Home Sulphur Louisiana. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery.
