Steven Glen Arabie passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 in Lake Charles, Louisiana surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Lake Charles on September 3, 1953 to the late Jessie and Lillian Chaline Arabie.
Steven worked for Arabie Roofing from the age of 15, and after his father’s death in 1989, became the owner. His life was defined by his work, his family, his generous heart, and his love of horse racing. He will be remembered for his generous spirit and unwavering love for his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are, his loving wife, Cathy Morris Arabie; his mother-in-Law, Alma Fristoe; his stepdaughters, Jamie Morvant (Brent), and Jessie Foreman (Kent); his aunt, Agnes Martel; his sisters, Donna Arabie, and Cheryl Fontenot; his sister-in-law, Yvonne Arabie; his brother-in-law, Terry Landreneau; and twenty-two nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Nicci Lyons; his brothers, Jessie Wayne Arabie, Jasper “Buddy” Arabie, and Joseph Arabie; his sisters, Lynetta Beaugh, and Wanda Landreneau; and his nephew, Clint Thibodeaux.
Steven’s funeral will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, December 29, 2025 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, 4321 Lake Street, with Msgr. Jace Eskind presiding. The family will receive friends on Monday morning from 9:00 AM until the start of the service, with a rosary being recited at 10:30 AM. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
Cathy and family would like to thank Steven’s sister, Donna Arabie, for her loving care during his lengthy illness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or St. Michael Center for Veterans, 425 St. John St., Lafayette, LA 70501, or the Christ the King Catholic Church Building Fund.
