Steven Julien Baudoin

Steven Julien "Steve" Baudoin, 80, passed away peacefully at his home on September 26, 2026, following a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by the love of his family, and leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, integrity, and devotion that will continue through the generations who follow him.

He was born on November 9, 1945, in Youngsville, LA to Harry Julien Baudoin and Ruby Hebert Baudoin. He was a 1964 graduate of Sulphur High School. Part of his high school years was at Our Lady of LaSalette Seminary. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force where he served in Vietnam as an Airborne Radio Direction Find Operator. Upon his return from Vietnam, he enrolled at McNeese State University where he earned a B.A in Accounting in 1974. During his senior year at McNeese, he was introduced to the girl of his dreams at "The Keg" by their mutual friend LaDonna Vidrine Reddin. He proposed on their very first date and they were wed five months later.

Steve will always be remembered as a man of exemplary integrity. A man whose heart and spirit were centered and guided by Christ. His love for Charlotte and Christ guided him to welcome life into their family. Steve and Charlotte brought five beautiful babies into their home and into their hearts. Steve and Charlotte loved and honored their children as beautiful gifts from God.

The Cursillo was a major influence in Steve's life. After the Cursillo, Steve prayed his rosary and attended Mass daily until illness prevented Mass attendance. He loved his children and his wife as he loved God. Steve held leadership roles in his faith, always striving to be a soldier of Christ. He was actively involved with The Men of The Sacred Heart, enthroning Jesus as King of the home. He served many years as coordinator of schedules for Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church for the 24-hour adoration chapel. He was passionate about his Catholic faith and led many souls to Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ruby Baudoin, his in-laws Harold and Dot Huval, and his twin granddaughters, Danielle and Michelle Baudoin.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Charlotte Ann Huval Baudoin; and his children, Jared (Sabrina), Danny (Lori), Alisha, John, and Kolbe. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dylan, Brayden, Kayla, Kyla, Khory, Kason, Karter, Leah, and Dante; and his great grandchildren, Anna, Ella, Rosie, Olivia, Rynlee, and Henry (to be born in November of this year).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 3, 2026 in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, with Rev. Paul Jussen serving as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will be at the funeral home, 4321 Lake Street, on Friday October 2, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a rosary being recited at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 10:00 AM until leaving in procession to the church.

Pallbearers are Charles Baudoin, Jared Baudoin, Danny Baudoin, John Baudoin, David Huval, and Huey Huval. Honorary pallbearers are Mitch Martin, Dick Stine, Terry Leger, Dan LeBleu, Kent Crochet, and Kolbe Baudoin.

The family would like to express a special thank you to all his caretakers, especially to Ramona, Kat, Diana, and Jay, and to the nurses of Harbor Hospice, especially Virgina Harber... whose love and care will be eternally remembered.
