Steven M. Harvey

Steven M. Harvey was born July 8, 1949 in La Crosse, WI to Harry Vernon and Doris Judith Harvey. He passed away after a quick battle with cancer on Wednesday, January 30, 2019.

Mr. Harvey proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam with the 173rd Airborne Brigade, U. S. Army Reserve, U. S. Coast Guard Reserve and the Louisiana Army National Guard. During that service he was awarded the Army Parachute Badge, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, two Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts, and numerous other awards and decorations.

He was a member of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, where he served in various roles ranging from teacher to lector.

Mr. Harvey was employed by the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller and retired from Chennault International Airport as its first Director of Airport Operations.

He married the love of his life, Mary Patrice Borne on January 23, 1971. He had two daughters, Kimberly Michelle Harvey Williams and Elizabeth Jeanette.

Mr. Harvey is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Patrice B. Harvey; daughter, Kimberly Williams and husband Chad; six grandsons, Evan, Elliot, Drew, Dylan, Quinn, and Cameron Williams; and brother, Jon Harvey of Battle Creek, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Elizabeth; and brothers, Mark and James Harvey.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 4, 2019 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Father Bill Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and continue on Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
