August 15, 1969 — April 19, 2021

Steven Vincent Farber, 51, of Moss Bluff, LA, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021 in a local hospital.

Steve was born August 15, 1969 at Homestead AFB, FL and lived all of his life in the Lake Charles / Moss Bluff area.  As a child, he enjoyed playing baseball with Mid-City Little League and was a 1987 graduate of Lake Charles Boston High School.  He went on to graduate from Sowela Technical School with his degree in Airframe and Powerplants.  Steven always had a love for airplanes and began his career at ERA Helicopters and then worked twenty-seven years for Northrop Grumman, where he worked his way up to Senior Production Planner.  With 25 plus years with the Northrop Grumman Corporation Steve’s value was immeasurable.  Through his role as a Production Planner IV, Steve ensured smooth flow documentation, guidance, and positive feed to his counterparts.  Farber was a key member in the Fabrication Center success by ensuring the delivery of a satisfactory product.  Steve led the NG Fab Center New Business proposal team, covering USAF, NAVY, & Army productions.  Steve Farber was well ahead of his peers.  He commanded multiple engagements and accomplished them without flaw.  His attitude and continence fostered a productive work environment.  Throughout the years, he received numerous recognition awards, including the Timely Award in 2000, the Northrop Grumman Bravo Award and in 2020 was recognized as the Top Performer.  He turned his longtime love for airplanes into a career that he enjoyed.  He often amazed people with his ability to recognize any plane just by the sound it made flying past.  Steven previously owned a lawn service, managed his rental houses and was co-owner / operator of Farber & Associates with his father.  He was a member of World Redemption Center, where he was head of security.  He also enjoyed target shooting and loved to take trips with his family.  Steven will always be remembered for his giant heart of gold and the devotion and love he had for his family.

Steve is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Linda Leger Farber; children, Chris Farber, Mya Farber, and Chance Farber; parents, Glyn and Marie Farber; mother-in-law, Ruth Leger; brother, Brian Farber and wife Amy; one granddaughter on-the-way; and numerous other family members and friends.
