Susan Cooper Kelley

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Susan Lee Kelley, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life at the age of 75. Born on January 5, 1950, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Susan was a lifelong resident of this vibrant community, where she touched the lives of many through her dedicated work as an OR scrub nurse. Her compassion and skill in the medical field were only matched by her warmth and generosity.

Susan held an associate's degree and was known for her tireless dedication to her patients, serving with unwavering commitment throughout her career in the medical industry. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her profession, as she was a guiding light and source of strength to her family and friends. She was a proud member of Greater Life Apostolic Church, the church that her son, Trevor pastors. She was a valued member of the church family and will be greatly missed.

Susan is survived by her son, Trevor Kelley, and Trevor's wife, Deana, as well as her cherished grandson, Zachary Kelley. They, along with many extended family members and friends, will forever hold dear memories of her love, laughter, and kindness.

A time of gathering to honor Susan's life will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on October 4, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, her Pastor and son, Rev. Trevor Kelley will officiate. She will be laid to rest following the service at Grand Lake Community Cemetery.

Susan was preceded in death by: husband, James Kelley, parents, Newton Cooper, Harriet Cooper, brothers, Larry Thompson, Ricky Thompson and sister, Eva Marie Cooper.
