Susan Lynn Retzlaff
November 22, 1945 — June 23, 2022
Iowa – Susan Lynn Retzlaff, born in Lake Charles on November 22, 1945, daughter of the late Mitch and Elaine (Pugh) Retzlaff, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, at age 76.
Susan was a graduate of DeQuincy High School and Touro Infirmary School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse with various hospitals. Susan was also member of Westwego Volunteer Fire Dept. Susan enjoyed quilting, wood working, collecting stamps and coins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gero Karst and her parents.
Survivors are her brother, Michael Retzlaff; sister, Patricia Retzlaff; niece, Christine Retzlaff O’Connell; great nephew, Enzo O’Connell; sister at heart, Pamela Roquemore and husband, John; best friends, Karen Garcia and husband, Mike, and William (Billy) Miller.
A celebration of life will be held in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 3 p.m. Inurnment will be in Newlin Cemetery of Singer at a later date. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
