Lake Charles – Sweelseline “Susie” Marie Carrier, born July 8, 1933, daughter of the late Ogel and Helen LeJeune, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018, at the age of 85.
Susie graduated from Rayne High and moved to Iowa/Lake Charles area in 1959. She was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Iowa and served as a Catholic Daughter. Her hobbies included gardening and sewing.
She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Carrier (Donna) of Baton Rouge; Joseph Carrier (Jeannette) of Iowa; John Carrier (Diana) of Iowa; Mark Carrier (Sarah) of French Settlement and daughter, Vicki Hebert (Tony) of Lake Charles; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carrie Savoy and Lima Clement.
Susie is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Carrier; siblings, Lorene Richard; Alice Bellard; Ella Bergeron; Iceal LeJeune and Isaac LeJeune.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Raphael Catholic Church, Iowa, on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 10 a.m. Father Bennie Wego will officiate. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
Visitation begins Wednesday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m., with a Cursillo rosary at 6:30 p.m. and will continue Thursday in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m.
