Sybil Ventura

Sybil Turner Ventura was a resident of Moss Bluff and passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018 in Lake Charles, LA

 

Sybil was born on March 4, 1927 near Grant, LA and graduated from Fairview High School. She attended business college in Beaumont, TX along with her cousin and best friend, Sylvia Faye. She was employed by England Air Force Base during World War II, Delta Air Lines as a reservationist in Shreveport, and then Bingswanger Glass Company in New Orleans.

 

Sybil is preceded in death by her parents, Robert (Bill) and Adele Turner, an infant sister, Juanita, her first husband, George Jubb and second husband, Elwin Ventura.

 

She is survived by two sons, Stephen (Cary) Jubb and Keith (Bernie) Jubb, three stepchildren, Penny McClelland, Sandy (Billy) Gordon, and Lorie Ventura. She is also survived by six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, her brother, Edric (Madine) Turner and her sister, Ouida Smith. Sybil will also be missed by her many, many friends.

 

Sybil was a member of Moss Bluff United Methodist Church and was active in the Adult Sunday School Class, Thrift Shop and Church Food Pantry. A memorial service will be held at Turner Church on Palestine Road near Branch, LA at 11AM on Friday, October 5, 2018, officiated by Rev. Mark Baray. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
