Sylvia Jean Myers, 81, of Lake Charles died suddenly on May 12, 2015 at a St. Tammany Parish Hospital. Mrs. Myers was born in New Orleans on June 24, 1933 and lived in Lake Charles most of her life. She was a faithful member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and worked as a secretary for St. Luke Simpson and St. Andrew Presbyterian Churches. She enjoyed spending time with family, and playing bridge with friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, George Wayne "Toot" Myers; parents, Edward and Mary McMullen; and a granddaughter. She leaves to honor and cherish her memories five children and their spouses, David Wayne Myers and Sherry of Snellville, GA, Julie Boudreaux and TeBoud of Lake Charles, Mark Myers and Sharon of Oviedo, FL, Susan Hardey of Lake Charles, and Scott Myers and Tanya of Covington, LA; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 15, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Harold Nixon will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 11:00 AM until the start of the service with a rosary being recited at 1:30 PM.
