Tammy Wynette Erbelding, 55, of Johnson Bayou passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025 in a local hospital surrounded by her family.
Tammy was born July 27, 1970 in Jennings, LA and was a lifelong resident of Johnson Bayou. She was a 1988 graduate of Johnson Bayou High School where she was a proud Rebel and member of the track and softball teams. She then began her career with the US Postal Service as mail carrier for Johnson Bayou, Holly Beach and Cameron for nearly twenty years. Amongst her greatest times were thirteen years of cosmetics, hair styling and cheerleading for her sister and friends in pageants. Tammy also loved cheerleading as she followed her nieces and nephews to countless events for basketball, baseball, track and field and rodeo. She was a talented seamstress and was most famous for sharing (rarely making) intriguing recipes on Facebook. Her specialty dish was her shrimp mold, a staple for special holidays and special gatherings. She was of Catholic faith and a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church.
