Terry Ott Breaux

January 21, 1940 — October 2, 2020

Terry Jean Ott Breaux, 80, of Lake Charles passed away, Friday October 02, 2020 in the comfort of her home.

Mrs. Breaux was born in Smithville, MO and lived most of her life in Lake Charles.  She was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School and attended two years of McNeese State University.  She worked her younger years with Bell South Telephone Company.  In 1962, she married her sweetheart, Ronney, during his last semester at McNeese and followed his enlistment in the Army and moved to Fort Belvoir and then to Fort Bragg, NC where she delivered her first-born daughter.  Following her husband’s service to the military, she made Lake Charles home again, as she found a home near McNeese and soon thereafter, delivered a 2nd daughter.  It was at this time she began to devote her life and her love, not only to her husband, but to her daughters and later her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Cooking large meals for her family and making something special for gatherings was one of her favorite things to do.  She was a wonderful cook and a beautiful seamstress.  She also enjoyed watching the Astro’s with Ronney and raising African Violets.  Mrs. Breaux was a lady of faith and grace with two great loves her family and our God.  She was a devout Catholic, praying the rosary, praising Mother Mary daily and visited a Statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary in New York.  In 1971 she began leading rosaries at nursing homes two to three times a week until no longer able in 2010.  The last several years were difficult as her health began to decline substantially.  Mrs. Breaux was blessed to always have her husband by her side and the opportunity to be at home.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of fifty-eight years, Ronney J. Breaux of Lake Charles; two daughters, Tess (Scott) See of Sulphur and Kathy Kingsley of Sulphur; five grandchildren, Kelly (Byron) See, Jessica (Randell) Crader, Jeff (Jessika) See, Andrew Kingsley and Matt See; ten great-grandchildren and one brother, Richard Ott.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cullen Carlton Ott and Ruby Stratton Ott.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1:30 PM at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Father Samuel Orsot will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation Wednesday will be from 10:00 AM until 12:45 PM at University Baptist Church.  A rosary service will begin at 10:30 AM.

Memorial donations may be made to Holy Angels, 10450 Ellerbe Rd, Shreveport, LA 71106 or laholyangels.org.
