Terry Benjamin Tilley, 72 of Lake Charles passed away Tuesday April 3, 2026.

He was born on January 14, 1954, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where he grew up and graduated from Lake Charles High School. During his school years, he was an active member of the track team. Following graduation, he briefly worked at the American Press before beginning a career as an operator with Alcoa Carbon Products.

After retirement, he found joy in building homes throughout the Lake Charles area, earning a reputation for his remarkable work.

In his free time, he enjoyed all hunting sports and had a passion for the outdoors.

He was also an avid sports fan who loved cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, as well as LSU football and baseball.

Terry was a man of deep faith who loved the Lord and his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Donna Janies Tilley of Lake Charles; sons, Beau Tilley of Lake Charles, Lance Tilley of League City, TX, and Seth Tilley of Lake Charles; his beloved grandson, Landon Tilley (Lauren Shegog) brother, Larry Tilley (Joyce) of Lake Charles, brother in law, Clay Janies of Lake Charles, sister in law Loretta Tilley of Lake Charles; his loyal furry companion, Lucy and numerous extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Ruth Tilley, and brother, Gary Tilley.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. A private memorial service will be held.
