Iowa- A native of Gueydan, LA and a resident of Iowa, Thaddeus died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10:35 a.m. at home in the presence of his loving wife, Brinda and daughter -in-law, Cassie Hentschel.
Visitation will be held in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home on Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Rev. Willie Bellard, Jr. will officiate. Cremation is entrusted to Johnson & Brown Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Brinda Cormier; daughters, Cindy Cormier of Lake Arthur and Debbie Williams of Elton; sons, Roger Pettifield of Ragley and U. V. Jean Mott of Kinder; sisters, Peggy Youngblood of Gueydan, Faye Romero (Rufus) of Iowa, Leona Melancon (Nolan) of Gueydan and Nancy Benoit (Roger) of Gueydan; aunts, Lou Ella Istre (Carlton) and Viola Nolan. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Thaddeus is preceded in death by his father, Leon Cormier and mother, Anaice Broussard Hebert.
Thaddeus was a graduate of Gueydan High School and served in the U. S. Air Force; attended McNeese State, and was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was self-employed at T. J. Cormier House Leveling Service for forty years until retirement.
