Thedore “Ted” Joseph Babineaux Sr., 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 30, 1949, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Bertha Elizabeth Scalisi and Alex Babineaux.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Ted lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. He was known for his generous spirit and love of entertaining. Whether hosting family gatherings or spending cherished time at Toledo Bend with his beloved wife, Ted found great joy in creating lasting memories with those he held dear.
Ted dedicated 42 years of service to Alcoa, beginning his career in maintenance and later working in the warehouse. Even in retirement, he remained active and could often be found on his John Deere tractor, tending to the land he loved. Ted’s life was a reflection of faith, humility, and hard work.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 55 years, Lauren Ann Micelle Babineaux; his children, Denise Lauren Babineaux Fusilier and husband Jason, and Thedore Joseph Babineaux Jr. and fiancée Monica; grandchildren, Emily Fusilier, Alec Fusilier, and Kaleigh Babineaux; great-granddaughter, Lincoln Guillory; and numerous beloved cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his great-grandson, Noah Guillory.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home, with Deacon Harold Nixon officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 12:00 p.m. Ted will be laid to rest at Consolata Cemetery.
