Thelma Joyce Williamson "Singleton"

Thelma Joyce Williamson "Singleton," born September 17, 1940, ran into the arms of Jesus on September 19, 2026, in Lake Charles at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, surrounded by a family that loved her. She devoted her life to being a faithful warrior of Jesus. In her last hours, she would raise her hands to Heaven in prayer, praying to someone that only she could see. We know that she fought the good fight. She kept the faith, finished the race, and gained her heavenly reward. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy, where she resided.

She is survived by her sons, Chad Singleton (Veronica), Carter Singleton, Neal Singleton (Kathy), Larry Doyle; daughters, DeeDee Derouen (Scotty), Lecia Lyles (Dewey); sister, Evelyn Moore; sister-in-law, Kathy Williamson; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Shorty" Singleton; her parents, Joseph and Mertie Daugharty Williamson; her sisters, Eloise Caskey, Myrtle "Marie" Gotte; brothers, Robert (Thelton) Williamson and Dewey "Pete" Williamson; and her in-laws, Walter and Leah Singleton. Her family has peace in knowing that she is free from pain and is back with their Dad in Heaven.

A funeral for Thelma will be Friday, September 25, at 10:00 AM at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Burial will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery in Dry Creek, Louisiana. Visitation will be Thursday, September 24, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will resume Friday morning at 8:30 AM and last until the start of the service.
