Theresa Ann Ravia Mcdaniel

Theresa Ann Ravia McDaniel, born in Lake Charles on October 22, 1958, daughter of Edwin Lloyd and Weida Clara (Welch) Ravia, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at the age of 64.

A graduate of Hackberry High, Theresa attended Sowela Technical College for 2 years. Occupational & Medical Clinic of Lake Charles employed her, where she was loved by all her patients.

She enjoyed tending to her porch plants, cross stich, needlepoint, and playing Pokeno. She was a friend to all and was the best Maw-T to her beloved grandchildren.

Theresa was a devoted member of St. Theodore Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law, Benjamin McDaniel, Sr., and sister-in-law, Patrice McDaniel Johnson Brown.

Theresa is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Benjamin “Mac” McDaniel, Jr.; son, Nicholas McDaniel (Christine); daughter, Stephanie Simmons; sisters, Rita Faye Ravia Thibodeaux (Derek), and Linda Kaye Ravia Seay (Kirk); grandchildren, Bria, Sophie, Laila, Alea, Cooper, and Kaia; nieces and nephews, Shimerine Foreman, Derek Thibodeaux, Jr., Shelby Thibodeaux, Jody Seay, Marcie Seay Marsh, Jessica Guillot, and Jacob Johnson; great-niece, Maleigha Guillot, and great-nephew, Aaron Guillot; mother-in-law, Patrica McDaniel, and son-in-law, Randal Simmons.

A Mass of Christian burial is Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Theodore Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Beauregard Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Pallbearers assisting in her service are Nicholas McDaniel, Shelby Thibodeaux, Jody Seay, Derrick Hoppe, Paul Hoppe, and Brian Guillot.

Visitation will begin Friday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume in St. Theodore Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2023.
