Grand Lake – Thomas Bourgeois, born in Church Point on October 17, 1947, son of the late John and Evelyn (Thibodeaux) Bourgeois, passed away December 30, 2023, at the age of 76. He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones.
Thomas, a painter for 40 years, was a hunter of all game, fisherman, and an excellent gardener. He planted all year and enjoyed the fruits of his labor. He loved playing bourree with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
Survivors are his wife of 23 years, Jo Beth (McGill) Bourgeois; daughter, Jessica Smith (Timothy) of Lake Charles; siblings, Betty Hernedez (Gene) of Baton Rouge, Judy Johnson of Eunice, and Glenn Bourgeois (Mary) of Church Point; granddaughter, Emily Pinney of Lake Charles, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Enola Bourgeois of Lake Charles.
Per his request, his cremation has been entrusted with Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be announced on Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa website and Facebook page.
