Thomas H. "Tommy" Burke

Thomas H. “Tommy” Burke, 77, of Lake Charles passed away at 7:35 PM on Sunday, May 5, 2019 in a local hospital.

Mr. Burke was born on August 7, 1941 in Lake Charles to Herman and Pearl Dennis Burke, where he lived all of his life. He was a laborer in the construction industry, and a member of Gillis First Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Anita Burke Moreau of Moss Bluff; brothers, Paul Burke (Carolyn) of Wolfe City, TX, and Richard Burke of Houston, TX, and his companion, Vernell Monceaus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rena Fontenot Chapman Burke; sister, Lillie Mae Tarver; brothers, Benny Burke, and Edward Burke.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
