Thomas James Mattox

Thomas James Mattox, age 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2024. He was born on February 1, 1946, to Marie Jones and James Harold Mattox.

Thomas served proudly in the United States Army as Chief Investigator for the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) for 23 years. After retiring from the Army, he continued his service to his community by working for the Sheriff's Department for 20 years before retiring again. Thomas was an active member of the Lake Charles Gun Club for over 20 years, where he found enjoyment in both the hobby and the camaraderie it provided.

Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Chun Pom Park Mattox; son, Jeffery Thomas Mattox; stepson, James Joel Howe; and stepdaughter, Rebecca Jean Carlisle.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home, located at 4321 Lake St., Lake Charles, LA 70605. The burial will take place at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.
