Timothy Breck “B. T.” Tyler, 60, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 3:16 AM on Monday, July 2, 2018 in his residence.
Mr. Tyler was born December 17, 1957 in Lake Charles, LA, where he lived most of his life, except for a few years spent in Minnesota. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Tyler worked as a delivery driver for Budweiser and Coca-Cola for a number of years and for Mark McComb as a painter. He loved playing softball and LSU sports. He was also an excellent cook, loved talking to people. He had a great love for his family and enjoyed every minute spent with his grandchildren.
Mr. Tyler is survived by his wife of two years, Belinda Tyler of Lake Charles; children, Phillip Tyler and wife Anna of Chaska, MN, Christopher Tyler of Oakdale, LA, and Brook Tyler of Manassas, VA; step-children, Erica Farris and husband Chris of Moss Bluff, Tara Tichy and husband Andy of Oakdale, and Derick Monk of Lake Charles; sister, Maria Williams and husband Jimmy of Iowa, LA; grandchildren, Eisley, Leo, Adalyne, Brennen, Kinslee, Cayson Lynn, and Camryn; best friend, Mark McComb of Lake Charles; God Children, Britni Maginnis of Lake Charles and Devin Orchard of Minnesota; nieces and nephews, Meagan Laviolet, Haylee Shuff, Kimberly Williams, Shelbi Laviolet, and Jacob Williams; along with a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete Sparks and Dolores Laviolette Tyler; grandmother, Evie Laviolette; brother, Byron Scott Tyler; and sister, Cynthia Dawn Laviolet.
His memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. A gathering of family members and friends will be at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM until the start of the service.
The family would like to express a special word of thanks to the Lake Charles VA Clinic, especially Kayla Allison, also to his home health nurse, Mrs. P, his cousin, Janice Laviolette, and his God-child, Britni Maginnis, for the care and compassion given.
Donations can be made to the family to help with expenses.
