Tim Honeycutt

November 4, 1965 — September 12, 2025

Lake Charles, Louisiana

Timothy Scott Honeycutt, 59, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away on September 12, 2025, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on November 4, 1965, Timothy was the beloved son of the late Herbert Ivan Honeycutt and Roberta Lois Crow. He graduated from Sulphur High School and went on to earn a degree in General Studies from McNeese State University. He first worked with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Department before finding his true calling in education, serving in the school system as a dedicated special education professional.

Timothy was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles. He and his wife of 30 years, Pamela Dawn Whitener, were devoted to raising their boys in a strong Christian household, a legacy of faith and love that continues to shine through his family. He was immensely proud of his children and cherished his role as husband, father, and grandfather.

A true outdoorsman, Timothy loved hunting, fishing, and spending time in God's creation. He also poured countless hours into Boy Scouts, creating memories on many trips with his sons and shaping their lives through adventure, guidance, and example.

Timothy is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; his sons, Zachary Morrison Honeycutt and wife Alicia, and Ethan Scott Honeycutt and wife Jazmin; his precious granddaughter, Eleanor Jane; his sisters, Robin Garner and husband Kim, and Ivette Derouen and husband Johnny; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Roberta Honeycutt.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Houston Methodist Transplant Center for their exceptional care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nora's Home in Houston, Texas, which serves transplant patients and their families.

After years of illness, Timothy can now breathe freely again, without the burden of oxygen tanks and machines. His memory will live on through the family he loved so deeply and the many lives he touched with his faith, kindness, and devotion.

Tim's funeral will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2025 in the Trinity Baptist Church Central Venue, with Pastor David Rose presiding. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM in Bellwood Cemetery, 137 Bellwood Church Rd., Provencal, LA under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. on Friday evening from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
