Timothy Paul Martin, 72, of Lake Charles, passed away on March 28, 2026, at Christus-St. Patrick Hospital.
Tim was born in Kinder, Louisiana, to J.W. “Bill” Martin and Bertha Guillory Martin, on September 23, 1953. He graduated from Kinder High School in 1971. Tim worked in the oilfield, and as a machinist for Missouri Pacific Railroad, Consolidated Aluminum, Olin Corporation, and finally retiring in 2016 from Phillips 66 Refinery. Tim made Cursillo #230 and sat at St. Paul’s table.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cathy Laughlin, one daughter, Casey Marie Gaspard (Teddy) of New Iberia, two sons, Matthew Timothy Martin of Baton Rouge, and John Michael Martin, of Lake Charles; two brothers, Barry (Doris) Martin of Elton, and Keith (Karen) Martin of Kinder; one sister, Paula (Carlos) LaFargue of Kinder; three grandchildren: Austin (Kailey) Gaspard, Logan Gaspard, and Annie Gaspard, and two great-grandchildren, Remington and Oliver Gaspard, all of New Iberia. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Phillip Martin.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 10 a.m., Monsignor Daniel Torres, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation begins Monday, March 30th in Johnson Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Tuesday in the funeral home from 9:00-9:30 a.m. or until departure to the church.
