Iowa – Tina Michelle Benoit, born on November 20, 1970, daughter of Eldon LeJeune, Sr. and Jaqueline Ann Long, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021, at the age of 50.
Tina attended school in Iowa and graduated from St. Maria Goretti High School in Lake Arthur. She graduated from McNeese State University with a Bachelor of Science. She was a registered nurse and worked at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for Women. She also worked as a traveling nurse and bereavement counselor. Tina enjoyed tending to her flower garden, arts, and crafts, but most of all being with her children and grandson brought her great joy.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Jaqueline “Jackie” Long Benoit; paternal grandfather, Gaflin LeJeune; maternal grandmother, Viola Vige` Duplechin; maternal grandfather, Robert Long, Sr.
Tina is survived by her father, Eldon LeJeune, Sr., grandmother, Ruby LeJeune; children, Matthew Dylon Benoit (Katie); Summer Benoit (Matthew); boyfriend, Jordon Pickett; siblings, Eldon LeJeune, Jr. (Elizabeth); Tammy Bradberry (Keith); Crystal Cervantes (Gus); Ramona Faulk (Randy); grandson, Matthew James Benoit; godparents, Ronald “Ronnie” LeJeune and Janice Long; godchildren, Nikolas Miller (Jasmine); Hunter Miller (Allie); Laken, Jordyn and Hunter Pennick; numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces; best friend, Eddie Ray “Pnut” Dubroc; father of her children, Matthew Eric Benoit.
Funeral services are Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 2 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa, with Rev. Roland Vaughn officiating. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Tuesday in the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
The family has requested that no food be brought to the funeral home and facial coverings be worn.
