Toby Lynn Lowry

Toby Lynn Young Lowry, 67, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Toby was born on December 30, 1958, in Pineville, Louisiana, to Betty Ruth Stanley and Hollis Howard Young.

Toby dedicated many years of service to Crowley Maritime, where she retired after a faithful career. She was a devoted member of Life Point Pentecostal Church, where she faithfully served as the director of the children's Sunday School ministry. She was also an active member of the Pink Sisters breast cancer support group and Sew Blessed, the church sewing ministry, where she lovingly made quilts and other handmade items for those in need.

Toby found joy in gardening, canning, and reading. She was an exceptional hostess who loved opening her home to family and friends for gatherings and celebrations. Above all, Toby had a servant's heart. She was a devoted caregiver to her beloved mother and to anyone who needed a helping hand. She was a nurturing, compassionate woman who freely gave of her time, resources, knowledge, and love. Whether she was working in her garden, sewing, or caring for others, Toby could often be found singing. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Courtney Lynn Lowry; her mother, Betty Ruth Stanley; her sisters, Margo Lee (Curtis), Kimberly Courville (Brad), Denise M. Young Barton, and Jessica Bailey (Darrel); as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Kenneth Harry Lowry; her daughter, Rachel Dianne Lowry; her stepfather, J.C. Stanley; and her father, Hollis Howard Young.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue until the time of the service. Toby will be laid to rest at Consolata Cemetery.
