Tommy J. Hanks

Tommy Joseph Hanks, 55, of Lake Charles, LA passed away on October 31, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Tommy was born in Lake Charles to Leetel and Dorothy Broussard Hanks on April 2, 1962.

Tommy graduated from St. Louis Catholic School in 1981, and spent time working off-shore in the oil industry. Tommy was a very active member of St. Theodore Catholic Church. His passion was his family and he loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. His other loves were motorcycles and cooking (always without a recipe).

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Loretta and their three daughters, Summer (Chris) Cook, Shelby (Donald) Yeates, and Kelli Hanks. Those who will especially miss him are his grandchildren, Gracelynn, Bryson, Paisley, Hailyn, Elijah and Hollis. He also leaves his sisters, Denise Reynolds and Sandra Hanks and brother-in-law Gene Kallenbach,; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Carol Bettis and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Randy and Laura Gary.

The family will receive guests from 5-9PM on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Johnson Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 6:30PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday morning from 8-9AM, followed by a funeral mass at 10AM at St. Theodore Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Aubrey Guilbeau. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles.
