Tony Clyde Vickery, 78, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on March 5, 1947, in Winfield, Alabama, to Clyde Vickery and Christine Tyree Vickery.
Tony proudly served his country as a medic in the United States Army, stationed at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. Following his service, he began what would become a remarkable 39-year career with CSX Transportation. Working his way up to Locomotive Engineer, Tony approached every day with dedication and pride, ultimately retiring as the most senior CSX employee at the time. He truly loved his work and the friendships he built along the way.
A man deeply committed to service, Tony was a 32nd Degree Mason with Buck Creek Masonic Lodge #410 F&AM, having completed both the York and Scottish Rites. He was also a proud Shriner with the Zamora Temple.
After retirement, Tony moved to Lake Charles, where his beloved wife, Debbie, was from. The two first met in 1993 through mutual friends in Alabaster, Alabama, and together they shared 25 wonderful years of marriage. At one point, they ran "Paw Paw's" Convenience Store in Maylene, Alabama, a place filled with laughter and community.
Tony was known for his love of the news, his enjoyment of trips to the casino, and his self-appointed role as the "Supervisor of Everything." But above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He found his greatest joy in his family, cherishing every moment spent with them, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Those left to treasure his memory include his wife, Debbie Andrepont Vickery; his children, Rachelle Foreman, Bryan Lee Foreman, and Timothy John Foreman; grandchildren, Tony Landen Vickery (Cassie), Brittany Dianne McCrory (Nate), Macy Feenker (Lauren), Chloe Foreman, Kaleb Cohron, Shauna Foreman, and Savannah Foreman; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Daniel Clyde, Vera, Autumn, Hunter, Caysen, Jaxon, Hayden, and Haylee; and great-great-granddaughter, Hadleigh; siblings, Brenda Kirby (Don), Randy Vickery (Kathy), and Mike Vickery; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
He was welcomed into his eternal home by his parents; his daughter, Christy Elizabeth Feenker, and her husband, Butch; and his granddaughter, Madison Alexandria Foreman.
Tony's life was one of dedication, service, humor, and love, a legacy his family and friends will carry forward with pride and affection.
Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
