Van Joseph Drounett, Sr.

Van Joseph Drounett Sr., 71, of Hackberry, LA passed away on May 13, 2021 in a local care facility.

Van was born on December 7, 1949 in Sulphur, LA to Albert and Dorothy Drounett. He enjoyed dancing, collecting statues, and building various things from match sticks.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three kids, James Drounett and wife Defina Robison Drounett, Van Drounett Jr; one step daughter, Stephanie Kennedy; 5 grandchildren, Sabrina Kennedy, Tamirica Drounett,Joseph Drounett, Aerella Kingsbury, SkylarDrounett; two brothers, Kenneth Drounett and Roland Drounett; and four sisters, June, Lorrie, Esther, and Judy.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Whitney Drounett; sisters, Jane, Beulah, and Sharon.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, May 17, 2021 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.   Visitation will resume Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Burial will be at Drounett Cemetery in Hackberry, LA.
