Vanessa Lalanne

Vanessa Duhon Lalanne, 58, of Hecker, LA passed away at 12:29 AM on Monday, February 20, 2017 in her residence surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Lalanne was born on May 27, 1958 in Lake Arthur, LA and was a graduate of Iowa High School. She lived in Lake Charles until moving to Hecker, LA in 1980. Mrs. Lalanne had a passion for music of every kind and was gifted with the skills to play the guitar. She also enjoyed knitting and sewing but most importantly, she valued her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 40 years, Jack C. Lalanne, III of Hecker, LA; two sons, Jack C. “T-Boug” Lalanne, IV (Skye) of Sapulpa, OK and Levi Lalanne (Janie) of Hayes, LA; mother-in-law, Ella Lalanne of Hecker, LA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sheila Hermann (Harold) of Hecker, LA, Melissa Harrison (John) of Coral Springs, FL, and John Lalanne (Darlene) of Missouri; a sister, Geneva Duhon of Spring, TX; a brother, Darrell Duhon of Lake Charles; and five grandchildren, Kane, Quincy, Ella, Carter, and Vayda Lalanne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Shirley Duhon; a brother, Dwain Duhon; grandson, Waylon Fall Lalanne; and father-in-law, Jack C. Lalanne, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 23, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. David Dewitt will officiate. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the services.

The family would like to send out a special thank you to Yvonne Krielow (Nurse Practitioner) and to Dr. Michael Broussard for their help in her courageous fight with Leukemia and giving them 10 more wonderful years with her. They also would like to thank Heart of Hospice for their care and compassion given to Mrs. Lalanne.
