Vera Marie Zarzour Plumb, 60, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 24, 1965, in Beirut, Egypt, to Odile Issa and Jack Zarzour.
A proud graduate of Sam Houston College, Vera earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education before beginning her career teaching in Houston, Texas. After five years in the classroom, she transitioned into pharmaceutical sales, where she excelled for more than three decades with companies including Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, and Sunovion. Her professionalism, dedication, and genuine care for others defined her work and earned the respect of all who worked with her.
Vera was a proud Alpha Delta Pi and carried the sorority’s values of friendship and service throughout her life. She was deeply devoted to her family and especially treasured her role as “Vi Vi” to her beloved twin grandbabies, Riggs and Rudy Dale. Vera found her greatest joy in supporting whatever her daughters were interested in at the time. From sports and school activities to new passions as they grew, she was always present, always supportive, and always their biggest cheerleader. Outside of work and family, Vera loved capturing life through her photography. She was often behind the camera capturing her daughters and their friends during the many vacations she loved bringing everyone along on. She had a genuine joy for life and was a friend to all. She loved to celebrate those she cherished and always welcomed any excuse to host and bring people together. Her warmth and generosity truly left a mark on everyone lucky enough to know her.
Vera leaves behind her daughters, Morgan Plumb and fiancé Austin, and Madison Plumb; her parents, Odile Issa and Jack Zarzour; her grandchildren, Riggs and Rudy Dale; her significant other, Andre Ardoin; and her siblings, Mark and Laura. She was preceded in death by her beloved fur baby, Buddy, who was always by her side.
A celebration of Vera’s life will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m., with Brother Larry officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will continue until the start of the service. Vera will be laid to rest at Consolata Cemetery. Guests are encouraged to wear pink, Vera’s favorite color, in honor of her memory and in celebration of the joy she brought to everyone around her.
