Verna Mae Landreneau

Verna Mae Landreneau, 86, of Lake Charles passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 in a local hospital.

 

Mrs. Landreneau was born on September 28, 1932 in Mamou and was a graduate of Mamou High School. She moved to Lake Charles in 1957 where she became a parishioner of St. Margaret Catholic Church. Mrs. Landreneau enjoyed being a stay at home mother to her five children.

 

She took pleasure in sewing and gardening but most of all she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Karen Ardoin (David) of Lake Charles and Kathy Landreneau of Eunice; sons, Daniel Landreneau (Melissa), Greg Landreneau, and Michael Landreneau (Julie) all of Lake Charles; special sister in law, Geraldine Morvant of Beaumont, TX; nine grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leola and Theogene Morvant; her husband of 52 years, Robley Landreneau; brothers, Alvin and Don Morvant.

 

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. The Rev. Samuel Orsot will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM in Ardoin Cemetery in Mamou under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday from 8:00 AM until leaving for the church at 9:30 AM.

 

Pallbearers will be: Steve, Jacob, and Adam Landreneau, Bobby Barbry, and Sam and Bailey Hale.
