Virgie Landry Hughes

Virgie (Landry) Hughes, born on January 13, 1947, daughter of the late Clifton and Hattie (Sonnier) Landry, passed away in her residence on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at the age of 74.

Virgie was a graduate of Iowa High School. She attended St. John Bosco in Westlake with her husband, Ronald. She worked for Walgreens and later as an office manager for a law firm.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Jane Speer, and Wayne Landry.

Virgie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ronald Hughes, Sr.; son, Ronald Hughes, Jr.; grandson, Jack Austin Clark Hughes; siblings, C. J. Landry; Arthur Lee Landry; Allan Landry; Kirk Landry (Linda); Linda Arsement (Leonard); Dale Taylor (Terry).
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Monday, September 6, 2021, at 11 a.m. Visitation will begin on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. and will resume Monday at 8 a.m. Services can be viewed via Johnson & Brown Funeral Home Facebook page. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
