Virgie Mae Rodrigue Poole

March 16, 1946 — June 28, 2017

Virgie Mae Rodrigue Poole, 71, of Lake Charles, LA, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Virgie was born to Willard and Margie Rodrigue on March, 16, 1946. While growing up as the oldest of 17 children, Mrs. Virgie learned to care for others at a young age. She would always make sure everyone had plenty to eat. She became a self employed babysitter who left an impact on everyone she met. Mrs. Virgie was a proud Christian who brought many into the light of Christ, especially her family and the children she cared for. She proclaimed her faith by singing in the choir and attending Grand Lake Faith Temple. Her home was open to anyone who went to see her and she will leave behind a great legacy of selflessness and Christianity as she never strayed away from her faith.

Left to cherish Mrs. Virgie’s memory is her husband of 53 years of marriage, Edgar Poole, Jr.; daughter, Belinda Rowland (Jimmy); son, Kevin Poole (Tanya); grandchildren, Keisha Rowland, Ronald Davis, Ashlee Rivette (Kory), Justin Poole (Brittany), Alissa Rowland, Triston Poole, and Garrett Poole; great grandchildren, Meara, Grayson, Gauge, and Gunner; sixteen siblings; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Virgie is preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Freda Rodrigue; and her cousin Deena Rodrigue.

The funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Grand Lake Faith Temple at 3:00PM. Pastor Andrew Martin will officiate. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin Saturday morning at 11:00AM until the time of service at 3:00PM.

Pallbearers to serve will be Justin Poole, Triston Poole, Garrett Poole, Benny Rodrigue, Ronnie Rodrigue, Austin Boyer, as well as an honorary pallbearer, Timothy Boyer.
