Fenton – Wade E. Reed, 79, passed away Friday, November 04, 2016 in his residence.
Mr. Reed was born in Jennings on June 2, 1937 to the late George R. and Corrine Larson Reed. He was a graduate of Iowa High School and attended McNeese State University. Mr. Reed retired from Shell Oil after 30 years. He was a B.A.S.S. Bass master Tournament fisherman and fished with the best of the best. Mr. Reed was a diehard LSU sports fan.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Maxine Marcantel Reed of Fenton; sons, Kyle Reed and wife, Pam of Fenton and Kent Reed and wife, Chrystal of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Kay Price and husband, John Porter Price of Monticello, AR; sister, Carolyn Carroll and husband, Tom of Fayetteville, AR. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin Monday, November 7, 2016 in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home – Iowa, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice for the excellent care of Mr. Wade and also to Scotty Carroll for his help and support during this difficult time.
