Walter Fitzgerald Morehead

Walter “Bulukie” Fitzgerald Morehead, 53, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017, in a local hospital, surrounded by his family and friends.

Mr. Morehead was a native of Lacassine, LA and lived most of his life in Lake Charles, LA. He was a graduate of Lacassine High School. For over 30 years, Walter took pride in his commercial/residential lawn care and maintenance business, Walter’s Lawn and Maintenance. He found joy in his work and also in helping others. Walter was a selfless individual and wanted others to be happy. He was the type of man who would “give you the shirt off his back”. Mr. Morehead will be most remembered for his love and devotion to his family, friends and Heavenly Father. Walter’s caring and forgiving nature will never be forgotten. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Walter leaves to cherish his memory, his former spouse, Angela Morehead of Houma; two brothers, Curtis Morehead and wife Rebecca of Lake Charles, and Randall Morehead and wife Donna of Iowa; three sisters, Ronica Manuel and husband Floyd of Houston, TX, Veronica Morehead of Lake Charles, Denise Gatson and husband Rico of Lake Charles; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ruby Jean Morehead and one sister, Ronal Morehead.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 08, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Wade Littleton will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata cemetery. Visitation Friday will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
